Airbnb and Vrbo Hosts: 3 Things to Do Today in Your Rental Bathroom

Cleanliness and value are two huge factors when it comes to your Airbnb or Vrbo host ratings. Small extra touches can sometimes mean the difference between a 4-star and a 5-star rating in these areas. Here are three of those small extra touches.

  1. Roll towels instead of folding them. While hanging towels as you would find in a hotel bathroom are great for single-night guests, most Airbnb and Vrbo host request a two-night minimum stay – and that means providing more than one set of towels. Especially when placed out in clear sight in the bathroom (versus towels placed in a closet), we recommend rolling the towels as seen in this photo. It’s a small extra touch that takes little time, especially if you prepare your towels, bedclothes and blankets ahead of time.
  2. Fold the ends of the toilet paper. What’s common to most bathrooms in 3- to 5-star rated hotels? The end of the toilet paper folded into a triangle. We’ll show you how to do it in a future video. Stay tuned!
  3. Provide hotel-sized toiletries. While a big bottle of shampoo or a dispenser on the wall is nice, what’s even nicer, especially today when people are more concerned about Covid and spreading germs, are personal-sized toiletries. In our Airbnb and Vrbo rentals, we provide hotel-sized shampoos, conditioners, body washes and soaps.

But, we add even more than that. We also provide two toothbrush sets, as well as something almost every female guest comments on in the reviews – single-sized makeup removers.

What extra touches have you found effective as Airbnb or Vrbo hosts? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below.
